Data Engineer

We are looking for experienced Data Engineer professionals that will join the Data Services department running data acquisition development, governance and support to cross teams for several innovation projects.

In a daily basis, you will do all the tasks related with Data Engineering, work in data acquisition and processing in Hadoop Big Data platform, developing jobs in MapR, Spark and Scala.

About the position


  • Responsible of the Data Acquisition and processing.
  • Programming jobs in MapR.
  • Data ingestion, data profiling and modelling in Hadoop.
  • Read internal data bases using Sqoop.
  • Read FTP files from other vendors and departments.
  • Read clinical analysis stored on FTPs.


Must have:

  • Strong experience with Python (to develop in PySpark).
  • Experience with AWS.
  • SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Degree in Computer Science or similar.
  • Proven practical experience in managing data ingestion, data profiling and modelling projects in Hadoop environments using agile methodologies.

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience utilizing and programming jobs within MapR.
  • Big Data tools/framework: Spark & Scala.
  • Amazon EMR distributions.
  • Other Big Data tools/frameworks: Flume, Sqoop, Hive, Oozie, HBase.
  • Experience implementing data scraping.
  • Experience pharmaceutical industry and validated computer systems.
  • Knowledge on semantic/graph systems.
  • Experience working in a virtual, international and multicultural environment.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem solving, good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to find innovative approach/solutions, agility and ability to work under pressure.
