My friend has founded a non-profit organization (NGO) to help people in Madagascar. The NGO is called AiNA soa and started its work in the year 2013. Privately initiated and founded, the NGO does a great work in training the locals in First Aid. In the last years the NGO trained over 5 000 people, produced two training books and various training videos. My role from the beginning was one of a technical adviser and I did the digital communication. The first version of the website was created in the year 2012 and I was involved in the design of the logo, business card layouts, etc.
What convinced me to get involved, was the realisation, that in this part of the world not even the simplest medical knowledge is available. People suffer and die of things which can be easily prevented. AiNA soa made it its mandate to empower the locals. The NGO works towards an effective and long-lasting development work. This convinced me at the end.
