Initial situation
The customer had an idea for a new piece of software that they want to realise together with their partners. We as ERNI were contacted due to having a broad team of Business Analysts, UX experts, facilitators, Machine Learning experts, innovation facilitators and more. Our task is to propose a solution on how to bring the idea to life. Technically, this involves architecture and technology as well as the first prototypes validated with the end-user. Along with it, we are entrusted with the development of a new business model on how to embed the new service within the company.
Process
In the beginning, we put up a team of 6 people distributed in different cities in Switzerland and abroad together going even through more time zones. During our first workshop, although we were fully remote, the quality of interactions with our customers through dynamic boards, and skilled facilitation from our Innovation team led to an enjoyable experience.
So far, we have defined the business challenge asking questions like What is the motivation behind the idea, What problems does the solution want to solve, What should be improved?
Furthermore, we established the Exploration Board exploring what we as the team already know in the context of the challenge (in relation to the customers, business, competitors, and technologies), which trends are there already…
We explored which persons need to be involved in solving the challenge and created a Stakeholder Map. We also examined the pains of the customer, what they are and what do they entail? During the ideation phase, we examined what solutions are available to solve the pains.
Result
Within Prototyping & Validation, simple wireframes were built to tangibly display the solution for the customer. The technical analysis showed the requirements, defined the solution architecture and the choice of technologies needed. We have worked out an offering with respective roles and costs for the delivery of the solution.
