At ERNI we see Requirements Engineering (RE) as a holistic undertaking. We believe in our commitment to RE. This commitment is based on proven techniques and methods tested and validated over more than two decades of RE experience and the continuous willingness to improve ourselves in RE through further education and standardisation. Our RE commitment is not just supported by our promise but also by our participation in the IREB partner programme as a platinum member. The IREB is the International Requirements Engineering Board, which defines and provides the standard of effective and sustainable Requirements Engineering.

We provide our customers with a broad range of services in the area of RE. Our services cover all methods and techniques that will make your software development endeavour a success.

RE Check-up

Do you already have a RE process, but it is not working as you expected and you are caught up in continuous changes of the RE process within your software development life cycle? No problem. With our RE Check-up, based on our decades of experience, we identify your challenges and weaknesses. Besides the diagnosing the issues of your RE process, we derive project-specific and tailored actions for improving your RE process within a short time. The objective in our approach is to provide you with the diagnosis and recommendations first, before we start improving your RE process. In that way, you as a customer have full control of the financial resources and arising chances of our recommendations. The RE Check-up can be applied to every kind of project development method, i.e. agile development approaches like Scrum and traditional methods like PRINCE2.

RE Training

Have you already heard about RE and the IREB certification programme but have not yet found the time to dive deeper into the area by educating your employees? At ERNI we provide in-house training courses for a reasonable amount of time and money. For instance, we can organise a two-day training course in your company or another preferred location for preparing your employees for getting their Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE) certificate. We will also organise the certification process at the end of the training session. Our training courses do not just provide the knowledge for passing the certification exam according to the stated syllabus; we also use tasks based on our RE experience so that course participants receive a deeper and more practical view on RE.

Being a reliable partner in the RE process

Within the RE process, we cover the following four areas and provide support for fostering these areas in your software development project:

Whether for requirements workshops, prototyping, design thinking or crowd-based RE, we use different methods for eliciting your software requirements. In mutual discussions with you, we will find the most appropriate elicitation method and technique that fits with your project objectives and other constraints such as your budget and availability of the project stakeholders.

Our commitment to continuous self-improvement

For providing top-quality services in RE, we believe in continuous self-improvement. Every Consultant at ERNI is a Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering. In this way, we ensure that everyone speaks the same language when talking about RE. The training is supported by in-house training courses and learning cycles. Through this, we discuss current issues in projects and share our RE knowledge about new approaches and methods with each other. Moreover, we support our employees in getting certified in the Advanced Levels of the CPRE in order to emphasise our commitment to further improvement in RE. This commitment is honoured by our platinum membership on the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB) and our employees’ participation in the working groups of the IREB for improving the standard and the exam experience.
